La Brosse Energisante Absolution
We recommend dry brushing for a few minutes before your morning shower. Brush in circular motions; start at the feet and work your way up the body. Always brush towards the heart with light pressure. Gradually increase the pressure as you build your daily routine.
CARE OF YOUR DRY BRUSH:
Dry brushing, as the term implies, does not require the use of water. This is done using a completely dry skin brush.
To extend the life of the brush, we recommend that you store the dry brush in a place free of water and moisture and clean it regularly.
Remember that when cleaning a dry brush, the wooden base and handle should not come into contact with water. This is because water weakens the wood and can cause it to crack and rot.
There are several ways to clean a brush made from natural fiber bristles and include the following.
Method one
Fill the bowl with water. The water level should be lower than the length of the bristles, preferably halfway.
Add three drops of tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is an essential oil with disinfectant properties. It will help you get rid of bacteria on your brush bristles.
Place the brush in the bowl with the bristles down.
Move the brush. The movement loosens dead cells and impurities in the bristles. Water also helps distribute the tea tree oil evenly throughout the bristles. Be careful not to get the wooden base wet.
After five minutes, lift the brush and then replace the solution with clean water. Rinse the brush in fresh water using the same motion as in step 4.
Shake the brush and place it on a dry towel, bristles down. Secure it with safety pins and then put it in the dryer on a low clothes setting. Wait twenty minutes. During the cycle, the towel absorbs all the moisture from the brush and leaves it completely dry.
If you don't have a dryer, use a hair dryer.
Method two
A fourth method involves swirling the bristles in soapy water instead of using an essential oil solution. The most suitable soap for dry brushing is liquid soap, preferably baby shampoo. You can use alcohol as a disinfectant. However, alcohol should not be used frequently as it could damage the bristles over time.
Whichever method you use, make sure both the base and bristles are completely dry at the end. Keeping your brush wet can encourage the growth of bacteria and mold.
